Founded in 1971, ASO is America's oldest private research science and observatory facility supporting the study of our world and the space around it. Arkansas Sky Observatories contribute nightly measurements and orbital data for thousands of Earth-passing Near Earth Objects and Comets for NASA, JPL, and the Minor Planet Center. We are extremely proud of our five decades of research in Astronomy, Archeology, Paleontology, Microbiological, Climate and Environmental sciences.
Observatory Circle
Observatory definition is - a building or place given over to or equipped for observation of natural phenomena (as in astronomy); also: an institution whose primary purpose is making such observations. How to use observatory in a sentence. The observatory is open to the night air, so please dress accordingly. The telescopes will be inside the walls of the building, but the roof will roll away to expose the night sky. The building serves both as a shelter for the telescopes and as a classroom. Benches for sitting line the walls. Observatory-Planetarium Public Education Nights (OPEN Program) The general public and students are invited to come out on Friday nights after the free OPEN Program planetarium show for celestial viewing. The Friday OPEN program telescopic viewing always begins at 9:30 p.m. (weather permitting).
