After the recent hike in Smartphone prices, many customers are confused as to what is the best smartphone to purchase on a budget. People who have a limited budget of around 10000 INR now only have a limited number of options when it comes to smartphones under 10000 segment. Smartphones in this price range only ship with the Snapdragon 439, or the Helio G25 or the Helio G35. Popular phones in the market with the Snapdragon 439 includes the Samsung Galaxy M01, Redmi 8A, Redmi 8A Dual, Redmi 7A and Nokia 4.2. Redmi 9A is a smartphone in this price range that comes with the Helio G25. Redmi 9C and Realme C11 are the smartphones in this price range that come with the Helio G35. So which among these three processors is a better choice? Let’s find out in this article.

Helio G25 vs Helio G35 vs Snapdragon 439

CPU:

All these three processors are built on TSMC’s 12nm manufacturing process. This means that all three of them equally power efficient. Next, another common thing among these processors is that all of them are octa-core processors, which is what most mobile processors nowadays are. In the Helio G25, we get eight Cortex-A53 cores all clocked at 2.0 GHz. In case of the Helio G35, we get four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.3 GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. The Snapdragon 439 also houses eight Cortex-A53 cores, but with four of them clocked at 1.95 GHz and the other four of them clocked at 1.45 GHz.

GPU:

The GPU found the G25 and the G35 are pretty similar except for the differences in their frequency. Both these processors have the same IMG PowerVR GE8320 but the one in the Helio G25 is @ 650MHz while the one in the Helio G35 is @ 680MHz. The Snapdragon 439 comes with the Adreno 505.

Memory:

In terms of memory, both the Helio G25 and the Helio G35 has support for up to 6GB of LPDDR4x @ 1600MHz. In terms of storage too, both these processors from MediaTek has support for eMMC 5.1. Now coming to the Snapdragon 439, we get support for up to 4GB of LPDDR4 @ 1600Mhz. As far as storage is concerned, we get support for SD 3.0 (UHS-I).

Display:

The Helio G25 is quite easily the inferior here as it supports only up to 1600 x 720 (HD+) resolution with a refresh rate of 60Hz. The G35 pulls ahead with support for 2400 x 1080 (Full HD+) resolution with a refresh rate of 60Hz. The Snapdragon 439 provides support for up to 2520×1080 (FHD+) resolution, and the refresh rate is limited to 60 Hz here too. However, since only budget devices come with these processors, so the end decision of including an HD or FHD panel will lie with the manufacturer.

Camera:

Which one is Better?

In terms of raw numbers, the Helio G35 powered Realme C11 was the winner with a total Antutu score of 113288 points. And the second was the Helio G25 powered Redmi 9A with an Antutu score of 102778 points. Rail works. The lowest of the lot was the Snapdragon 439 powered Redmi 8A which got a total Antutu score of 88112 points. (Note: These Antutu scores are collected from different sources. Our detailed AntuTu benchmark test results are coming soon).

So if performance is your priority than an Helio G35 powered smartphone should be your pick. The G series Helio processors are gaming centred processors and you won’t find a better processor on a smartphone around this price range.

MediaTek is on a roll at the moment, releasing yet another affordable gaming-focused chip in the form of the Helio G95 that will likely find its way into budget phones across the globe.

Essentially the Helio G95 is an overclocked version of the MediaTek Helio G90T that was released in July 2019. This time around, MediaTek boasts 5% CPU and 8% GPU performance gains over the older chipset. That might not seem like a great deal, but it’s important to note that this is simply another solid alternative to Qualcomm in emerging markets.

Immense experiences are powered by a carefully selected mix of hardware that’s designed to excel at user responsiveness whether you’re streaming video, chatting with friends, working on the go, playing games, or snapping pics. The MediaTek Helio G95 Performance has been pumped up to 5% in CPU benchmarks (Antutu) and up to 8% in GPU benchmarks (Manhattan 3.0) vs. the G90T.

The G95 octa-core CPU features two powerful Arm Cortex-A76 processors cores clocked up to 2.05GHz, plus six Cortex-A55 efficiency-focused processors. Its immense graphics performance is provided by an Arm Mali-G76 MC4 with speeds that boost to 900MHz. Up to 10GB of LPDDR4X at 2133MHz provides generous bandwidth, while support for the UFS 2.1 storage yields ultra-fast data-streaming.

Proving just how modest the hardware expected to come with the MediaTek Helio G95 is, the chipset supports 90Hz FHD+ displays, UFS 2.1 storage, up to 64-megapixel camera sensors, and up to 10GB of LPDDR4x RAM clocked at 2133MHz. Even if all of those were to come in a device packing in the chipset, it would be squarely within the mid-range segment at this stage of 2020.

The Helio G95 is expected to debut within some upcoming Realme devices, which are set to launch on September 3. You’re also likely the see the chipset within an array of upcoming gaming phones by the end of 2020.
