If you are sure that the audio file has embedded Tempo metadata (you can check by opening it in BBEdit and scroll all the way down), then Logic will confirm that when you 'look at the imported audio region in the Smart Editor. The text message tells you that (Don't click Edit!).

To apply the embed Region Tempo Map to the Project Tempo, select the file and use the menu command Edit > Tempo > Apply Region Tempo to Project Tempo.
